A typical feature of the Vosges, the farm inns, of which there are ten, are the worthy successors of the «marcairies » of days gone by, where the shepherds and cowherds welcomed passing walkers to share their meals.

The Marcaire Meal
This meal is composed of farm products: pies, smoked meats, steamed potatoes (or « toffailles »), Munster cheese and bilberry tart.
Also, the professional agricultural organizations have created a national brand name "Bienvenue à la Ferme" (« Welcome to the Farm ») which is a guarantee of the quality of real country fare and service.
